What's the name of this painting?
I saw a painting on Wikipedia and I’m trying to find it again.

It was basically a model train coming straight out of a fireplace of a living room, as if there were invisible tracks underneath it (or there might have been tracks in the painting, but I’m not sure, in either case, the train (or train and tracks) were suspended in mid-air).

It was by the same artist who painted a portrait of a man with his back facing the viewer of the painting, and a mirror in front of the man, but the image of the man in the mirror also shows his back instead of his face.

I guess the genre would be contemporary, but I’m not familiar with art terms. Other than the obvious things that were impossible in real life, the painting was fairly realistic. I think it was painted around the mid 20th century, but I’m not sure.

Any help in identifying the painting or artist would be greatly appreciated.

What could happen to me?
I’m an Australian living in the U.S.A, had a beautiful baby boy and my husband and I are the happiest parents in the world! (he is a u.s marine) I applied for my i-485 back in november 2008. I went to my i-485 interview and they asked me for a certified court desposition that there were no convictions against me. (something minor that happened in las vegas back in 2006 j-walking) My case was dismissed, however when i called the LV police department and the courthouse where it would be filed they said they had not one single piece of information on me. They sent me a piece of paper stating that no information could be found on me, so i sent this to USCIS and didn’t hear back from them.
I made an appointment to see USCIS but had to cancel my appointment as an immediate family member has fallen critically ill and has been in ICU for 4 weeks now. (at this stage the family member wont make it and have only so much time and I wish to stay here until her last stages)
If my application gets denied will i be deported and get taken away from my husband and son?

It’s an attempt to keep Iraq stable until the Iraqis can do it all for themselves, if we leave now the void will be filled up by Iran, and innocent Iraqi people would be murdered int he tens of thousands or have to submit to the will of a few powerful men. If they were the wrong people we would end up fighting there again soon. If the Iraqi’s had all cooperated when we first drove out Saddam we have already been long gone. The problem is they have had a hard time agreeing who is going to run the place.

Why does it matter if we are there? Our military needs to be somewhere. Even at home young soldiers die. They die of violence or accidents. Iraq provides our military excellent training opportunities. Afghanistan even more. Ironically, our wars have made us stronger.

Good question.

I think that vocals can both significantly add to and take away from metal. For example, I really can’t stand death metal, but it’s not because of the instrumentation or the musicianship; no, I hate it because of the growling and screaming. It seems so unnecessary. Plus, screaming doesn’t really display much talent in a singer…anyone, if they’re in the right mood and position, can scream. Not anyone can sing. I can probably pull of Johan Liiva, but there’s no way I could pull of a Ronnie James Dio.

BQ: Well, the opening was promising, but then…the vocals. I loved the guitar, but the VOCALS, dear God.

Marijuana? Can someone give me a reason why its bad?
1 MARIJUANA DOES NOT MAKE YOU STUPID. If it did then why has there been so many successful people in the world that have inhaled. There studies that show that it actually stimulates brain activity.
2 IT DOES NOT KILL BRAIN CELLS. the test that showed loss was done, instead of recommended 30 joints a day, by placing gas masks over monkeys and then pumping sixty grams of weed in five minutes WITHOUT additional oxygen. The monkeys suffocated which caused brain cell loss.
3 IT DOES NOT GIVE YOU CANCER. There is not one case of anyone getting cancer from smoking marijuana alone. You can’t find one. Cigarettes however kill many many people

4 IT HAS NEVER KILLED ANYONE. EVER. Caffeine kills more people a year

10 THE GATEWAY THEORY doesn’t make sense. Its scientifically impossible. Only one 1 of every 140 weed smokers also do cocaine.
11 If it were legalized it would be WAY HARDER FOR KIDS to get it because they would have to go through a regulated system. The store owner would lose his license. A drug dealer only cares about the money.

Also the government can tax it, Just like they tax tobacco. And you don’t see people growing tobacco in there garden either.

Dear claire, I have checked the facts and they say that no one has ever gotten cancer from marijuana use alone. If your much more likely to get cancer from marijuana like you say, then how come you cant find a case of it.

Bob Marely died of cancer. Doctors speculate that he lived as long as he did through his long term marijuana use. And I haven’t smoked in about three months. I haven’t had any withdrawals or anything of the sort.
And so what if I want to smoke it. That doesn’t make my facts any less true. Its the people who smoke it and love it who will be the ones to do the research and fight for it.

It’s like being drunk in public, which is illegal too. Misuse of products causes harm to people and others and causes accidents and makes people DO stupid things. I don’t really know why it’s illegal, I just know that misuse of mouthwash can result in a drunk killing somebody just as much as any other product being misused can harm people.

Get in shape and lose weight?
I’ve come up with a plan on how to build more muscle and lose some weight, but I haven’t had much experience in it so I would like some tips or advice.

On Mondays-Thursdays:
wake up at 4:30-5am to go to the gym. I eat a banana or apple or any piece of fruit before I work out then I do 10-15 minutes on the elliptical machine, 30-45 minutes doing different weight machines, and then 10-15 minutes on the treadmill. After I work out I eat 1/2 a protein bar and then go to school. I eat the other 1/2 protein bar for lunch and another piece of fruit, then I have some fruit when I get home, and I eat whatever my mom makes for dinner usually.
Fridays and Saturdays I eat the same but I don’t go to the gym until later.
Sundays I don’t do any exercise but eat the same.
My mom, dad, and I are also doing this thing where we don’t eat grains. I only drink coke zero, water, g2, and occasionally apple or grape juice.
The protein bars we got have 30-32 grams of protein in them and no more than 410 calories.

I am 17 years old, I’m a girl, 5′10, and I weigh around 155 lbs right now. I would like to get down to 125-130 lbs. Do you know, on average, how long it would take to reach my goal?

The exercise sound pretty good, but I would eat a normal lunch: For example, a healthy sandwich made on high-fiber bread.

Coke Zero and G2 are not particularly healthy. Water, milk (if you’re not lactose-intolerant), fresh juice in moderation—these are healthy drinks.

it sounds like you have a pretty solid plan. to lose the weight i ate smaller meals every 3 hours rather than 3 main course meals and some snacks on the side. and add in cardio for a half hour 3 times a week.. go to your local gnc or vitamin store and get some detox drink before you start the eating/exercise program to help clean out your liver in order to break down food better. best of luck email me with any other questions : )

OK here’s what you need to do one day DO NOT EAT your body will go into starvation mode and get rid of all the bacteria and left over fat in your stomach. you will feel pain in your stomach”Hungry pain” Hunger is a state of mind . once you go a day without eating you wont feel the need to eat everything out of the refrigerator. o and BTW protein makes you gain muscle weight which is the heaviest . im 14 have a 6 pac abs ,am Nj Diamond ,Silver Gloves, and state champion .

that’s great that you thought of a workout program but i don’t hear much on about your diet. Working out is great but if you don’t have a good diet program to go with it, it will mess you up and you won’t see your result that fast and you might give up. Do you have a type of muscle groups you work a day if not you might be working the same muscle day after day and that is not good. Your plan sounds good but break it up in to more detail like your diet and your workouts day by day. hope you do good

thats not enough food. grains are good to eat. as long as there not white grains beacuse white grains are bleached and that takes out all the nutirents, but any other grain is healthy for you. coke/soda is always horribale for you. quit drinking soda. idk what g2 is. proteins bars are candy, there not good for you. its better to get protein from something healthy. you will be underweight if you weight 129 or less. you need to eat alot more.

dont loose any weight! 5 lbs of fat is 5 times bigger then 5 lbs of muscle. loose fat, gain muscles.
warm up 5+min, strech 5+min, high intensity workout (cardio and/or strength training) for 1+hour, strech 1+hour. cardio= running, or any exersize that causes you to become out of breath. strength training= exersize that causes muscle pain. reps= the # of each time you go up and down from a exersize. high insentisy and less reps is best compared to medium intenstiy and more reps. set= an exersize done until failure. exersize= one particular exersize. failure= phsycially can not do another rep.

always do an exersize until failure. muscle soreness= muscle pain that happens the day after your workout, can last up to a week. if your muscles arnt sore the next day after your workout then make your workout harder. recovery= the time during your muscle soreness that you dont do more then light exersize, so your muscles can recover and grow. its good to have muscle soreness, during the time you have muscle soreness, dont do more then light exersizes. once your muscle soreness has gone away, then do your high intensity workout. particular muscles may be sore and other may not be, you can workout the muscles that arnt sore, but wait to do more then light exersizes to the sore muscles until the soreness has gone.

daily eat as much as you can even when your not hungry. eat healthy varieites of fruits veggies grains(not white grains) meats dairy beans nuts soy. 6+meals a day. eat protein 50+grams daily. drink 2+cups water per hour. sleep8+hours.
