We are going to New York this summer in a 2003 Venture with no armrests, and an AM/FM/tape radio
I can’t sleep in the car, there is not enough room with 6 people
I can’t read in the car, I will get carsick
The only way I can be entertained during a long drive is with electronics.
All my electronics will be depleted before the drive is complete
laptop lasts 1 hour (asus g51)
zune lasts 3 hours
PSP lasts 3 hours
we have an inverter, but it can only handle 1 computer at a time, and my dad is all about sharing it with the other 4 passengers (not including me or the driver)
sharing means I will be out of entertainment for as long as I don’t have power
I don’t have much of an imagination, so I can’t invent games to play while driving.

The Alphabet game with billboards and signs. The famous person name game when you have to come up in which you come up with a famous person whose name starts with the first letter of the previous person’s surname and double-lettered names reverse the order in which people answer (Adam Sandler>Sarah McLaughlin> Marilyn Monroe> Marco Polo).

We also play a game where we go through the alphabet to name various cities in Michigan or musical instruments or band names , etc (Adrian, MI> Battle Creek, MI> Cadillac, MI> Detroit, MI)

The most fun lately has been that I bought taboo and while the driver can’t safely make people guess the words on the card, he/she can always guess.

Do you have an iPod? You should be able to listen to tunes for the majority of that trip if you start off with a fully charged iPod.

Keeping that in mind, you mentioned that you can’t read in the vehicle because you get sick but what about listening to a book via your iPod? I bet you could find something worth listening to in that regard off of iTunes?? Good luck.

Speeders on my street! Is there anything I can do?
I live in a subdivision in Lake County Indiana. The roads are clearly marked at 20mph and you would not believe how fast these people go!! For some reason it seems to be a cut through and they go so fast that within the last week 2 of them lost their back end and almost lost total control. I go out and yell but then they just speed up. Now since everyone knows I am the "yeller" they do it on purpose. I have contacted County PD 4 times in the last two weeks and gave them permission to sit in my driveway and would even supply them with an endless supply of coffee, lunch, anything! I want these punk kids to see them clocking and hopefully get their attention. County has not come out and apparently I am in this on my own. Is there anything I can do? I have three kids under 10yrs old and worry about their safety.Your ideas are greatly appreciated!

First,you should probably stop yelling at them.Next,both you and some of your neighbors could contact the police department and complain to them that there are many people speeding down your road.They should make more patrols through your neighborhood,and if they don’t you can contact the city council and tell them that the pd isn’t listening to your complaints.Just one person complaining likely won’t get a response out of the pd,instead you should get a few more people to complain.

get with your neighbors and all of you contact the police. If several people complain versus one person, the police will take it more seriously. Plus, giv ethem notes. Whden it is happening? Is there one vehicle in particular you see speeding? Give them as much info as you can.

Had the same problem on a rural rod in NH. Speed Limit - 30 Vehicle speeds - sometimes over 60 and 70.
The police did respond a couple of times and pulled over a couple people if I had a license plate and description.
Try that first. Get a GOOD description of the car and the license plate. Stand at the end of your driveway with a video camera and take video of the idiots. Let them know that you are serious.

If that doesn’t work I had good luck a couple times bouncing a beach ball out in the road just as they approached. Gotta make it look like an accident that it got in to the road though because you can be held liable for any damage you cause.

fat to skinny or ugly to pretty manga? transformation?
a transformation manga like miunohri to swan, bara no tameni, tamago no kimi, cousin, stuff like that. it doesnt even have to be a girl, i liked angel densetsu, although it wasnt transformation, i dont want to pigeonhole everything. she doesnt have to be really obese, maybe chubby like cousin, or not superugly, but not something ridiculous like "needs to fix her cooking skills to get guys" girl saurus was stupid, but it has its moments.

duck prince was not to my liking, and ichigo 100% was boring towards the end where it didnt even focus on whats-her-name (something with an A? aika? ai? akira? ari?) anymore.

i loved the korean movie "200 pound beauty", even the stupid parts, and im trying to download ”love on a diet”, but i cant find anything else like an ‘ugly to pretty’ or ‘fat to skinny’ transformation. can anyone give me a movie or drama (NOT ugly betty), even american, or any language actually, with a plot similar to ‘losing weight’ or ‘pretty transformation’.
i also liked kimi ni todoke, so it doesnt just hav 2 be transformation, but u see wut i mean, the heroine is less than average, not always meaning ugly or fat.

Kimi ni Todoke doesn’t have a transformation physically, but one mentally and emotionally.
Sawako Kurunuma is known for looking and sounding like Sadako from the movie, The Ring, so she doesn’t make very many friends. She is able to meet a boy though, Kazehaya, who begins to talk to her, and is interested in her as a person. From there, she makes a goal to make many new friends and dispel the rumors about her and the curses everyone claims she spreads.
I really love this series, especially because Sawako is so oblivious to Kazehaya’s feelings for her, and the only thing she realizes at first is her admiration for him~

Are my characters cliche/Mary Sue? *easy, it just looks long*?
Sorry in advance for the length, I tried making it easy to read.

I’m writing a story, I only have four mains at this point, but here they are. Are these guys really cliche/stupid, anything like that? (in advance, I’m aware the #2 is kinda crappy right now, I’m still working on him).

To set the stage, this story is going to be set in mostly the human world (which is full of war and death), and the world of the gods.

1. Leading lady (or goddess). Her purpose is to descend to the human world, living inside of human bodies (alongside the souls already there) to learn about humans. She is a strong "woman", she can be somewhat bitter at times, but she knows when to be gentle. She’s naive when it comes to the human world (having never been there before). She’ll develop into someone who appreciates life, even though she may not have it herself.
At the end of the story, she’ll end up killing the main "antagonist", which in turn will destroy herself.

2. Antagonist (All-Being of the Gods, if you know what I mean). We don’t see much of him in my story, he kinda manipulates from behind the scenes. His existence is divided up into many smaller existences, the rest of the gods (including my leading lady). So in essence, the whole thing becomes kinda like that weird bee/ant/termite hive thing, where the one being (in that case, the queen) controls all of the workers/etc. Because this guy is essentially everyone in the god’s world, he can control them as he sees fit.

His main story is going to be something along the lines of being lonely, and forcing humans to become gods (to bring down that loneliness). Humans have souls of their own, and in bringing them to the gods’ world, the All-Being wouldn’t be the only soul/entity anymore. It’s weird to explain. Despite the fact that this guy controls all of the gods, my leading lady is going to end up resisting him (after much effort).

3. One of the human girls my goddess will end up inhabiting. She’s a shy, somewhat cowardly girl, but she’s a moral person. She’s an archer, but being a fearful person, she isn’t the best at fighting. She travels away from her home to see/experience the world. I’m thinking that there’s probably going to be one place she particularly wants to see, like waterfalls or something. This isn’t going to be a dream she’ll be able to live out though. She’s going to return to her hometown to try and defend her family from something that’s coming (like a group of bandits, or a small army, etc.). She’s going to die in the process.

4. Another human to be inhabitated. This guy is going to be an army general, arrogant, he throws his soldiers lives away as though it’s nothing, and he kills mercilessly. His motivation: keeping his young daughter safe at all costs (this will be revealed later). Because he has to become such a murderer to get this reassurance, there is a bit of self-loathing in him (because he can’t be a gentle father). He’s afraid to hold his little girl in his arms because of the bloodstains, so to speak. He is going to die in the midst of a battle, when he hesitates for a moment, thinking about his daughter, who he is, and the morals behind his killing.

ARGGG. Trilogy about ninjas?
Ok so going out on a limb but: about 5 years ago i read what i remember to be a trilogy of fiction books. it might have been two books and i’m 98% sure it wasn’t just one book. the plot was something like a boy who became a ninja. this all took place in japan. of course there was a love story too, something i remember was the scene where they met, i think she was training with kendo or something like that, and when their eyes met it was true love or whatever. the boy infiltrates some castle or something at the climax of the book. if i’m not being influenced by the last samurai, i also believe towards the end there was an army being amassed by some important guy that were using guns and western weaponry. tried looking it up but no luck so far.

new hammy doesnt like me?
ok so my hampster that i got when it was a baby died just over a week ago.i loved this hampster like crazy and she loved me too. she would squeek and tlk to me and wen i pet her she would act like a cat and try to push her body up into it. well i waited a week trying to get over her and couldnt so i went out and bought a new one that acted most like her in the store. i have had this new hampster for 2 days now but she is NOTHING like my old one and it is making me really depressed. she always tries to bite me (my old one NEVER bit me) and all she does is sleep ( my old one was VERY energetic) my bf tells me jus to go exchange her since there is a 2 week warrenty for any purpose even if ur personalitys dont mix. but i just feel horrible about doing that. so am i a bad person for wanting a different hampster because this new one isnt like my old one? or is that normal. also would she even understand or care? what should i do im really stuck! please dont be mean this is really hard and emoational for me. thanx.
