I would like to buy a house that is not listed for sale..?
I nearly rented a house about a month ago. The landlord really grew to like me (she said she was very disappointed when she found out I wanted the house after she had rented it to someone else the same day) and said she wanted me in the house more than anyone. The house was leased starting this February for one year by another tenant. She told me next January she will ask the tenant if they want to renew and if not I am welcome to it.

I have realized I love this house and honestly I would do anything to get it. I am somewhat nervous that the tenant will want to renew and I really want this house. I feel also like it is a smarter time to buy a house than rent.

My question is, is there a good way to tell this woman/landlord that I would be interested in buying this house? She purchased it last year and planned to use it as her own house but decided to rent it instead. From public records I have determined it was purchased for $25,000 and she is currently renting it I believe for $650. I would be willing to offer her a pretty good purchase price for the house.

Is there a best way to do this? Should I set up a time to meet her, call her, email? Most of our correspondence has been via email.

Just FYI it is a 2 bedroom house in Westland, MI. It features a fireplace and a large front porch, central air, built 1942.

Im 20 and have high blood pressure. why is this possible?
ok so im 20 years old. i have played sports through my whole life. I work out almost everyday and run and all that good stuff. the only supplements i take is protein shakes. my blood pressure is average at 143/80. I dont know what it is. i have never had any problems or past medical problems. and i dont have money or any insurace to see a doctor. will i be fine in the next 2 or 3 years, because by than i will be able to afford it?

How do I survive a 12 hour drive in a bare bones car?
We are going to New York this summer in a 2003 Venture with no armrests, and an AM/FM/tape radio
I can’t sleep in the car, there is not enough room with 6 people
I can’t read in the car, I will get carsick
The only way I can be entertained during a long drive is with electronics.
All my electronics will be depleted before the drive is complete
laptop lasts 1 hour (asus g51)
zune lasts 3 hours
PSP lasts 3 hours
we have an inverter, but it can only handle 1 computer at a time, and my dad is all about sharing it with the other 4 passengers (not including me or the driver)
sharing means I will be out of entertainment for as long as I don’t have power
I don’t have much of an imagination, so I can’t invent games to play while driving.

How do i survive a 12 hour drive in the most boring and uncomfortable car in the world?

The Alphabet game with billboards and signs. The famous person name game when you have to come up in which you come up with a famous person whose name starts with the first letter of the previous person’s surname and double-lettered names reverse the order in which people answer (Adam Sandler>Sarah McLaughlin> Marilyn Monroe> Marco Polo).

We also play a game where we go through the alphabet to name various cities in Michigan or musical instruments or band names , etc (Adrian, MI> Battle Creek, MI> Cadillac, MI> Detroit, MI)

The most fun lately has been that I bought taboo and while the driver can’t safely make people guess the words on the card, he/she can always guess.

Do you have an iPod? You should be able to listen to tunes for the majority of that trip if you start off with a fully charged iPod.

Keeping that in mind, you mentioned that you can’t read in the vehicle because you get sick but what about listening to a book via your iPod? I bet you could find something worth listening to in that regard off of iTunes?? Good luck.

hello there! first im fourteen? don’t know if that has anything to do with it, second this is very real,third i am a girl. okay lets get straight to the point! on sunday night, going on monday, I was about half way asleep, when I started to hear a loud buzzing, not buzzing but high pitched like… a very high music note soon it because so loud i couldn’t sleep. then I couldn’t move my arms,legs i was very awake now! like i was a magnet on a refrigerator and litterly could not move what so ever. I couldn’t speak my throat was dry, so in my mind i was saying the lords prayer, because i don’t know what the hell is happening to me. I was crying this lasted about fifteen second? maybe more as i said i was crying so i told my mom and asked her to say the lords prayer with me. she did, i kept wake up in the night feeling hmm… pressure? maybe at my feet like the covers but stronger like a dogs paw but we don’t have a dog, anways i couldn’t see this thing that was cause ing pressure so i whent back to sleep. yeasterday morning i woke up, walked around and layed in my bed, this time it happend again but i was trying to move my hand up. i couldn’t lift my arm. but i could lift my hand (my wrist and above) I ignored this as well I personly think I might have a mental illness but i mean im fourteen this is not normal. It happend a third time, I was laying in my sisters bed, asking her to sleep with me, by this time i was scared again i felt the pressure, and the ringing. she however was dead asleep. about ten minutes ago i was laying down, about to fall asleep when i noticed the light going throught our curtain… this is the last straw why i think im crazy i could see a face almost in the curtains. So i fell asleep with this image lingering in my mind. i had a DREAM this was happening to me, when i woke up my heart was extremly fast and once again i herd the rining. I don’t know whats happening to me, could you guys please list a list of mental illnesses related to this>? thank you this is not a joke i really think im crazy, or like have a brain nuron out of place, oh i said the lords prayer because i was so scared it seeme dlike the right thing to do. please help! thank you

But if you can’t move at times, you have to see a doctor. You aren’t crazy, it sounds like you could have something called Sleep Paralysis - look it up. I hope you feel better soon

What can I do about insensitive people like my colleagues?
I suffer from mild raynoud’s (the hands and feet are extremely sensitive to cold and when triggered, they change colour to red or blue). I"m already very conscious of this problem (i’m embarrassed showing my hands and never wear nail polish in winter so as not to attract attention; in summer I don’t suffer from this due to the heat) but this issue is getting worse for me as I’ve got two colleagues who today pointed out to me that I should do physical activity to get my circulation in order. Now, I do physical exercise regularly but the problem is still there as I work in a very cold office. We’ve got heaters but they rarely have any effect. I was surprised when they told me this and acted indifferent. But I feel that they were very insensitive, I mean I got diagnosed by a doctor so it’s not like I’m some couch potato who doesn’t know how to look after her body properly.

If you asked them for advice and they gave it to you, then you should not be miffed if they don’t give any further thought to it. If you brought up and talked about your condition and they gave a suggestion, that is also fine, since you initiated it. If you didn’t bring it up, but complained about the cold, then their suggestions were meant to be helpful, again you initiated it.

However, they are not required to continue to care. If you would like sympathy, then I would strongly advise seeking it from your friends and family and advice from your doctor. Coworkers in professional situations are not required to be sensitive beyond the bare essentials of civility.
