Last Samurai, The (2003)

IMDB rating: 7.80

Plot: In the 1870s, Captain Nathan Algren, a cynical veteran of the American Civil war who will work for anyone, is hired by Americans who want lucrative contracts with the Emperor of Japan to train the peasant conscripts for the first standing imperial army in modern warfare using firearms. The imperial Omura cabinet’s first priority is to repress a rebellion of traditionalist Samurai -hereditary warriors- who remain devoted to the sacred dynasty but reject the Westernizing policy and even refuse firearms. Yet when his ill-prepared superior force sets out too soon, their panic allows the sword-wielding samurai to crush them. Badly wounded Algren’s courageous stand makes the samurai leader Katsumoto spare his life; once nursed to health he learns to know and respect the old Japanese way, and participates as advisor in Katsumoto’s failed attempt to save the Bushido tradition, but Omura gets repressive laws enacted- he must now choose to honor his loyalty to one of the embittered sides when the conflict returns to the battlefield…

ARGGG. Trilogy about ninjas?
Ok so going out on a limb but: about 5 years ago i read what i remember to be a trilogy of fiction books. it might have been two books and i’m 98% sure it wasn’t just one book. the plot was something like a boy who became a ninja. this all took place in japan. of course there was a love story too, something i remember was the scene where they met, i think she was training with kendo or something like that, and when their eyes met it was true love or whatever. the boy infiltrates some castle or something at the climax of the book. if i’m not being influenced by the last samurai, i also believe towards the end there was an army being amassed by some important guy that were using guns and western weaponry. tried looking it up but no luck so far.

i know this seems like a really silly question?
so im usually quite confident(or at the very least am able to make myself appear that way easily) except when i start to get attention from large groups of guys(which happens a lot now cuz i work in an office where im the only girl). i feel really awkward and selfconscious and shy.its really irritating cuz then my personality changes completely and my voice starts to get really soft and squeeky and my body language starts to look less confident. anyone have ANY advice. cuz i dont want to come across as rain man and be considered a freak in my office.

im dont get shy with men in a 1 to 1 basis

First of all, it’s not a silly question. It’s very understandable. The best thing to do is to take the sexual element away. Don’t think of them as "male". Just think of them as co-workers. That’s not as easy as it sounds, but keep at it and soon you’ll be able to do it. Keep in mind that you are all equal, that might help.

Few Good Men, A - DivX Version (Normal Quality), DVD (Good Quality), PDA Version, iPod/iPhone Version

Few Good Men, AFew Good Men, A (1992)

IMDB rating: 7.50

Plot: In this dramatic courtroom thriller, Lt. Daniel Kaffee (Tom Cruise), a Navy lawyer who has never seen the inside of the courtroom, defends two stubborn Marines (Wolfgang Bodison and James Marshall) who have been accused of murdering a colleague. He (Cruise) is known as being lazy and had arranged for a plea bargain. Downey’s (Marshall) Aunt Ginny appoints Cmdr. Galloway (Demi Moore) to represent him. Also on the legal staff is Lt. Sam Weinberg (Kevin Pollak). The team rounds up many facts and Kaffee is discovering that he is really cut out for trial work. The defense is originally based upon the fact that PFC Santiago, the victim, was given a “CODE RED”. Santiago was basically a screw-up. At Gitmo, screw-ups aren’t tolerated. Especially by Col. Nathan Jessup (Jack Nicholson). In Cuba, Jessup and two senior officers (J.T. Walsh and Kiefer Sutherland) try to give all the help they can, but Kaffee knows something’s fishy. In the conclusion of the film, the fireworks are set off by a confrontation between Jessup and Kaffee.
